Youth Action Team (YAT)
Youth Action Teams (YATs) are formal groups of middle and high school students dedicated to planning and implementing peer-focused prevention and community service projects throughout the year. The DFE YAT will commit to conducting at least six service or prevention projects annually, including one prevention strategy per school semester that directly addresses substance misuse among peers. YAT members will also actively support major awareness campaigns like Red Ribbon Week in October and Alcohol Awareness Month in April. Through these initiatives, they will become powerful advocates for a safer, healthier Elbert County.

Our Mission
The mission of Drug-Free ELBERT is to cultivate a drug-free future for Elbert County through education, awareness, and support. It is dedicated to preventing youth substance misuse, specifically focusing on tobacco and THC/marijuana use among sixth through twelfth graders.

Parent Advisory Committee (PAC)
Drug-Free ELBERT is also expanding our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC), a group of parents who work with us to improve outreach, provide feedback, and build stronger family connections around prevention. Interested in joining? Contact us to learn more. Your voice matters!
Parent Resources
It's never to early to talk to your child about drugs or vaping. Talking as early as elementary school can be a great preventative measure. It's also never to late to talk to your kid. What you have to say matters.
