Catch My Breath.jpg

Catch My Breath is an evidence-based youth vaping prevention program that educates students about the risks of e-cigarette use and helps them build skills to make healthy, informed decisions. Through a partnership with the Georgia Department of Public Health, the curriculum will be taught at Elbert County Middle School (ECMS) to empower students to live healthy, vape-free lives.

Our Programs

Strengthening Families

The Strengthening Families Program, developed by Dr. Karol Kumpfer, is an evidence-based program that helps families build stronger relationships, improve communication, and develop skills that promote healthy choices and prevent risky behaviors. Elbert Partners for Health has partnered with the Risk Reduction Team for Elbert County School students and Youth Lives Matter to support local families. We are currently offering families an opportunity to participate in the online program and build practical skills to protect and strengthen their families.

Teen Mental Health First Aid (tMHFA), developed by the National Council for Mental Wellbeing, teaches teens how to recognize signs of mental health or substance use challenges in their peers and how to respond with support. In partnership with UGA Extension 4-H staff, this training  is provided to all 9th-grade students at Elbert County Comprehensive High School (ECCHS), helping students build the skills and confidence to support themselves and their peers.

Smart Talk: Cannabis Prevention and Awareness Curriculum, developed by Stanford University, helps young people understand the health effects and risks associated with cannabis use. Through evidence-based education and open, honest conversations, the curriculum empowers students to make informed decisions, recognize potential consequences, and build skills to navigate peer pressure and other challenges related to cannabis use.
